The Ocean To Ocean Bridge was in 1915 the only bridge carrying car traffic across the Colorado for 1,200 miles. However, the bridge had been closed to vehicle traffic since 1988. It re-opened, after a renovation, in February of 2002. The bridge is also known for its illuminated sign outlining the words "OCEAN-TO-OCEAN BRIDGE YUMA." The lights, which operate automatically, can now be seen each evening from dusk to dawn.
