Ten Rational Commandments

Four of the original ten commandments serve no other purpose than to stroke the ego of El, a local tribal god of a small Hebrew tribe from centuries past. Other commandments are either too weak, too strong, or too vague. Ten Rational Commandments is the first "serious" attempt in thousands of years to update this primitive guide for human conduct.

Thou shalt not rape nor assault another person. Thou shalt not molest a child, nor through inaction allow another to do so. Thou shalt not strike thy lover in anger, nor through inaction allow thy lover to come to harm. Thou shalt not beat, nor strike thy child in anger, nor cause thy children harm. Thou shalt not take another human being to be thy slave. Thou shalt not murder, nor stand idly and witness murder. Thou shalt not steal, nor cause damage to someone else's property. Thou shalt not lie and in so doing cause harm to another. Thou shalt respect the right of others to have opinions, ideas, and thoughts that are at odds with your own. Thou shalt keep thy beliefs private , not seeking to convert others, or force thy beliefs on any other, including your own children.

The Golden Rule encourages people to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" This allows baptists, moslems, nazis, klu klux klansmen, and other ignobles to coerce, force, and otherwise attempt to convert others to their beliefs, because they would want to be converted if they were heathen, heretic, of another belief or a skeptic. Consequently it is a bad rule, a terrible rule, a heinous rule that encourages people to war with one another. Thus, as with the ten commandments, it must be replaced with something better, finer, and more noble in purpose.

Presenting The Platinum Rule,

"Do not unto others, that which you would not have others do unto you!"

We are far better people, good people, when we refrain from doing harm to one another, than when we attempt to do good for one another. For when we attempt to do good for others, most often it is because we think we know more about their life than they do!
