Such Magic
''Were you at the door of wondering,
always at the door of wondering?''
Experience alone can give proof
to those dark-eyed dreams
that dance at night...
all my hunger,
ravenous,
and yet, beautiful in its own way.
I am she who will not deny.
I will embrace each thirst.
What immortality will I have,
if I stay true to the dream?
Long may my name be said,
long may my words be read,
long may my spirit live.
Visions such these need not be lost.
If you are there in the desert
thinking this can not be,
you have but to know a greater thirst,
so much more than mere water.
Drink that, too!
Whatever sustains is good,
in that desert of the soul.
I think not only of who is listening now,
but those who might hear later,
I embrace you all,
who heed the fragrance
of the 'night-blooming' flowers.
Smitten, bitten, wild are we,
we who will not be caged,
shall we then be enraged?
Still, we keep to the wanderings of the night,
what secrets we may discover!
Strength from my spirit to yours,
find your own strength.
Strength in the hidden places,
you know it, and it can inform,
reform, perform.
Action, then, from our night-driven dreams!
Say then, what you would like to come true!
That is the beginning.
Always there is the beginning.
From my 'now', to your 'now',
look!
No distance in the bridge!
Such magic I claim,
I make it mine
and yours!
