So I keep thinking about the very Beginning, before people named the Gods, and what it was like. I'm thinking back to before there were people to name the Gods. There were two forces, each separate in their intelligence - Will to Power and Will to Order. From their pairings, all of creation had the impetus to come into being. Human beings, being of the same divine stuff of the Gods, have also these elements within themselves, Will to Power and Will to Order. Self aware people through out the ages have named these aspects. Thus we find the one aspect called the Daimonic, child or the BA, the 'becoming active principle', and the other Core, parent or KA, the 'ideal of perfection'. The Chinese call the two 'Yin and Yang'. As above, so 'below' because we ARE of the 'star stuff'. Quoting Crowley again:
IT IS WRITTEN in The Book of the Law: "It is Our Lady of the Stars that speaketh to thee, O thou that art a star, a member of the Body of Nuith! . . ." (Nuith aka Nuit or NUT) These aspects work in partnership or else there is not balance. Curiously enough, the Chinese call the feminine receptive principle the 'dark' element, and the creative masculine principle the 'light'. But these can change hues and genders. Male Shiva is not the one of the Power, his lady partner Shakti is. We call SET 'dark', and RA 'light'. In a channeling of my Daimonic Self, Charlie declared 'you have given me a name and a face and I like it'. I sense SET saying, 'the ancient Egyptians have given me a name and a face and I like those'. But he will answer to calls for KALI, if he's in the mood. He knows if it's him they want, whatever name they use. The same for the ordering principle. A great many more names seem to have been given to this element. I think because people fear the ordering element less. Or because they fear it more. For whatever reason, or could it be because there are so many reasons Power can be channeled, and reason is an aspect of Order, thus we have the one who heals, the one who weighs in matters of justice, the one who exacts vengeance narrowly to a target, the one who creates the plans for things to be created, etc. If NUT (Order) is the mother of the gods, and of SET (who is the GOD separate (One of Power)), then idea must come first before anything else. Even before Power itself, there must be the IDEA of Power. Thus SET is known as 'Son of NUT'. Some others such as Plato and Ibn 'Arabi declare this, the 'idea in the Mind of God' is the first thing, the 'potentia'. Whereas others, such as Aristotle, declare 'unformed matter' is the first thing, or 'potentia'. You know, I'm going to have to think about this some more. Which comes first, the chicken or the egg? But neither SET nor NUT are of matter themselves, though they manifest themselves through matter. I think Matter is another element altogether. I could confuse myself real easily. I think I need to think about this some more. Such are my thoughts this morning. With time, they may evolve yet further.
