Oak Creek Canyon is the state's second biggest attraction, after the Grand Canyon. Due to the high elevation Oak Creek Canyon's bottom is well watered and predominantly wooded. That high elevation makes it a favorite cool retreat for Arizona's desert dwellers during the summer.
