I have seen artist's self-portraits that were not all that flattering. I often wondered, if one is an artist, shouldn't she express what is in her heart. My picture of myself, I think, is quite flattering. As well it should be. If you do a picture of yourself, I would hope you flatter yourself, displaying the best that is in you.
