(from my journal log: "Pin Laden Bin Laden", March 15, 2003 (preface of today, November 19, 2003: The Egyptian God SET acquired a bad reputation after the Osirians got done with him. Set was then ''seen as the god of power corrupted to its own ends, given to random, chaotic eruptions of pure violence, with no purpose save its own glorification.'' Well, ask an Osirian, and that's what you get. Set DID do 'a little violence' on that fellow Osirus. Ask an American what he thinks of Bin Laden, and he will say HE'S given to 'random, chaotic eruptions of pure violence'. Violence, he commanded, thereby causing, indeed, towards our Two Towers. But if you ask Bin Laden's mother, I'm sure SHE loves him. Why there's probably lots of people who love him. Just don't ask any Americans.) We have all been so sober this past week. Indeed, how else could we response to all the horrible events. But I found myself in need of a good laugh today. And I found it! At work today in the convenience store, among various other deliveries today of Pepsi products, booze and other odds and ends, the magazine man came by with a new supply of fresh magazines. TIME magazine is really going for the news hungry public, and had four different magazines out. One of them featured a particularily obscene image on it. I declared ''Bin Laden was ugly enough as a two inch high image on the web, but he's REALLY ugly in 8 1/2 by 11 inch format!'' But then I thought about it. The top title read 'Bin Laden: Target'. And wouldn't he make a good target. I visualized myself throwing darts at the image. We have a few sets of darts at home, but I don't have very good aim. I could stick pins all over him, though. And then it hit me! Pin-laden Bin Laden! The smiles it gave me, anticipating this during work, and later, whilst sticking him, laughter, made the $3.95 cost of the magazine well worth it. And you know, I just can't resist showing my 'art work' with you. You know that! |
