Bright Lights of the Web

These artists and authors have opened the door to their genuine authentic self in the powerful way that full use of the web's capacities allow. Their unique minds shine brilliantly forth through the darkness. Come follow where my web meanderings have led me...

My most delicious discovery is other online journalists. I've come to know the lives of some people very well due to this medium. There are over a thousand at latest estimate. I have favorites from around the world:

THE VERY FAVORITES:

John Bailey's Journal of a Writing Man gives a view of his life as a retired poet in England. You can almost hear him speak with a cultured British accent as he writes.

Darn Tootin' is both serious and humorous, as Rob tells the tales of being a young father.

I've read Maggie Turner's Page By Page page by page, from the first until the newest. Her thoughtful observations leave me with a sense of peacefulness..

OTHER FAVORITES:

Wally Torta's Journal Fascinating variety of daily artwork.

Trevor's Blog, Art with Heart!

The Silken Tent is written by an English teacher for thirty years, she knows her craft. A thoughtful, tranquil world.

Utata: the Serial Photography of Catherine Jamieson. Exquisite photography!

Not a TEACHER herself, Shauny is the DAUGHTER of one. She's inherited some WITTY genes, though. Some of her entries have made me laugh 'til I cried. That is rare, indeed.

These Streams of Consciousness, NOW 'PIXEL CONSCIOUSNESS', originate from a land famous for dry rivers, TUCSON, city that I still love, so I enjoy reading about familiar places from the writer's own perspective. He also has a picture gallery, always a plus.

Late Night Snacks: Artful writing and photography of a middle-aged business man always on the go. But he takes time to enjoy his family life and simple pleasures.

All of Noah Grey's whole site is an artistic, poetic exploration. His design skills are also simply awesome. Travel anywhere for a trip you won't forget. He keeps an online journal, as well.

The Electric Lighthouse, 'The Round and Round Which Illuminates'Find the lighthouse of two artists. Gary and Christine reveal theirselves through art and text. Gary has his art arranged in sequential order, along with a bio that accompanies it. Follow it in order for best effect. Here is a sample. The earnestness of this child has been perserved for all time.

Leslie Feinberg is a transgender warrior.Leslie has authored several excellant books, but for a short example of the fine writing read Leslie's Valentine made for Minnie Bruce Pratt. It was part of a feature entitled 'Love Letters from Queers' that appeared in the February 25, 1996 issue of Lesbian and Gay New York.

The Computer Artwork of Anne Eldredge Harris was done by a 79 year old lady who has abandoned oils, acrylics and collage for a series of vivid digital pictures exploring many of her memories and what it's like to grow old with grace. "When you've been stimulated all your life somehow you don't want to be ordinary,"she says. "I want to think new ideas."
