In the future my cartoons will be black and white. I feel black and white cartoons present the seriousness of my subject matter more adequately than color. Also the toons shall reflect a consistency in character and presentation, a style, whether I use
single or multi-panel presentations. The square word balloons are a
departure from old style word balloons. They takes less room, put
the emphasis on the toon, and allow for more words in less space ...
the latter always a premium in cartoons.
I will not be replacing all of the older toons. Some make their statement rather well, I think. But for those I do replace I will try to make one brand new cartoon for each one I redo.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Julia Cybele Lansberry has demanded that I must have a color version of each cartoon. SO, because I love her and respect her (and she has this really big hairy whip) the old versions of the cartoons will be eliminated entirely and replaced with both a black and white and a color version.
