Altar Working 4-10-05 JAL 6:17pm Laundry is done, I've straightened up the computer area and put away my drawings in a reasonably safe place. I am bathed, and I've redone the main altar area, dusting and cleaning each thing. When I put them back, I made it like a working, representing letting go of the past and preparing oneself for the new. xxxx In the beginning was Darkness (Place Pentagram of Set) And into that Darkness a force broke through from that womb, (Place statue of Set) And in that Union of Power and Mystery the Light was born, (Place statue of Sekhmet) With this Light, the Powerful One knew Himself better, (Place coiling snake candleholder and red stone signifying his Flame) And from that knowledge protection and play was born, (Place statue of Bast) Allowing Set to grow in power, (Place small dragon) and order and balance evolved, (Place Ma'at statue) In this interplay, all good fortune arises, (Place turtle dragon) All elementals have their role, (Place tin bearing image of entire Egyptian pantheon) Into this arena, One consciousness was born, (Place platform, white pentagram and tiny Illuminaria statue) And she called herself Illuminaria. xxxxxxxxxxxxx I did this for each piece placed upon the altar. Several of the succeeding elements have to do with changes I want to accomplishment in the world. For instance... xxxxxxx I place the mortar and pestle Representing Magical Alchemy and put into it the rune-stone Nauthiz representing hardship, and I will for the alchemy to overcome it. I place the tiny bird shell representing new birth, new hope, and will that these things birthed will thrive. Also I add one tiny bead necklace, reminding myself to have fun doing all these, to make pleasurable challenges of these aims. xxxxxxxxxx In so doing, I let go of the past with all its dust, and begin anew, shiny and clean. xxxxxxxxxx
