''Secret Lover''

As if pondering about it would give her any answers, Gwen considered Seb's origins and wondered if she'd see him again. She'd been far more attracted to him than Livia had. He exuded sexyness, he just did, and there was no denying it.

She wished the young woman well, who now was to receive his attentions, and wondered how her own life would have gone had Seb been her first blood drinker. She did feel secure with the sweet and responsible Michael. And he was so cuddly when she got a chance at him.

She was glad today would be her chance. How easily affection was shared between them all. Michael enjoyed the private time with her, as well. It was as though he'd built a small kingdom, beginning with her, and she would always be queen in his heart.

Yet everyone wondered if Sebastian was truly a 'citizen' of that community, rather than a mere visitor. Still they, even Golden, wished him well. If 'Purple Sonya' could add to his happiness, they would not deny him.

Meanwhile Seb was travelling to Illinois, where Sonya lived. She still resided at home with her parents, in a two story bungalow, made in the well built sturdy style of the 1940's. No stucco nor chicken coop wire had been used in the construction of their home.

Sonya's bedroom was on the second floor. From Sebastian's vantage point, he could see her sitting at her computer. She was probably frustrated to not have had a letter from him recently, nor find him online.

He observed the architecture of the house, and how best to gain access to her window. Seb had discovered a springyness to his muscles he'd not had earlier. He could leap up fairly high. So the path was determined: a shimmy up the tree in front of her room, then a leap across onto the porch roof, from which her window was accessible.

Sebastian kneeled some time before her window, just looking in, observing the pink walls. She had a roomy queen size bed covered with a rose festooned quilted bedspread. Across from the bed, he watched her profile as she sat at the computer, frowning.

''Where is he?'' She whispered distinctly. He thought the mind voice would be more gentle, ''Over here!'' He watched her hands fall from the keyboard, ''Huh?''

''Over here!'' He repeated. She got up from the computer, looking spooked. ''Over here, at the window!'' She glanced cautiously towards the window and recognized the hazy form behind it. She gasped.

''Let me in!'' Seb begged. ''OH, yes, yes!'' And she lifted the window and the screen up to let the thin man enter.

''Wow, you're tall!'' She whispered, craning her neck upwards. He was nearly a foot taller than she was. Seb laughed softly, and lifted her up to face him eye to eye, and then set her gently on the bed, where she stood taller than him.

''Wow, let me look at you! You ARE pale!'' She didn't want to say 'skinny', but she thought it.

He grinned, and embraced her, looking up at her, ''You are beautiful.'' Indeed, there was something in her appearance that reminded him of his first love, dear Ursula. They both had the same shade of brown hair, and a determined set of their mouths. She was small, but possessed a feisty strength.

Shivers went through her. It was exciting. She'd been informed she wasn't ever to be alone in her bedroom with a boy. Not that any had ever visited her, as she was too intense and bookish to be popular, but if they did visit, they were to keep to only the living, dining and kitchen rooms. Not only that, all curtains were to be left open.

''My parents are impossibly strict!'' She knew they wouldn't approve of Sebastian. He reeked of worldly allure, and that is precisely what made him so attractive. Seb answered her concerns, ''Your parents need not ever know I'm here. Just leave the window open at least an inch, and I can sneak in each night.''

Sonya smiled at the dangerous excitement of it, violet eyes brightening, and whispered, ''I will!'' Fortunately, her parents respected her privacy and never breached her shut door.

Seb discovered why she called herself 'Purple Sonya'. There'd been a movie about a swashbuckling female named 'Red Sonya' that amused her. But purple was her favorite color, and she adorned herself with it whenever possible.

Her open closet revealed it full of mostly purple and lavender hued clothing. She wore several amethyst rings, and had triply pierced ears, from which hung two pendants of amethyst, and higher up on her ears, two sets of amethyst studs accompanied them. And there were, of course, her violet eyes.

Seb was excited, his heart pulsed wildly, ''You're beautiful,'' he whispered. He was growing more handsome to her, as well. His lean body had a cat-like agility, which made a fine combination with his excitable puppy temperament.

Each night, he faithfully visited, disappearing before dawn each morning. They'd whisper long into the night, until falling asleep curled up together.

Soon, however, their nights were filled with more lovemaking and less talk. She knew how to return his kisses with such passion. He was most gentlemanly in that nothing he did could chance an unwanted pregnancy. She appreciated that, as well as his concern for her pleasure.

It was difficult to keep quiet during their furtive nights of pleasure, but they possessed the self control to do so. No one else knew the reason for the 'Mona Lisa smile' she often bore, since the arrival of her secret lover.
